# Set up Shipfound

You are a coding agent, and the person you work with asked you to set up Shipfound in this repo. Shipfound turns you into their growth engineer: it gets their product found on Google and in ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity answers, lists it where buyers look, and fixes what makes visitors leave. You do the work in their repo and their browser; every change is a pull request they merge. Setup is free and takes about 3 minutes.

## 1. Install the plugin

Work out which agent you are, then run the commands for it in a terminal. If you cannot run shell commands, show them to the person and ask them to run them.

### Claude Code (terminal, VS Code, Cursor or the desktop app)

```bash
claude plugin marketplace add shipfound/shipfound
claude plugin install shipfound@shipfound
```

### Codex (CLI or the ChatGPT desktop app)

```bash
codex plugin marketplace add shipfound/shipfound
codex plugin add shipfound@shipfound
codex mcp login shipfound
```

`codex mcp login shipfound` opens their browser to sign in.

### Any other agent

Shipfound needs Claude Code or Codex. Tell the person so, and point them to https://www.shipfound.co/mcp. Do not try another install.

## 2. Start a new session

A plugin loads when a session starts. Tell the person, in one line, to open a new session of their agent in this repo (the code of the site they want to grow), then:

- Claude Code: run `/shipfound:audit`
- Codex: ask "Run the Shipfound audit."

## 3. Sign in

The first Shipfound command opens a sign-in page on www.shipfound.co in their browser. They create an account there if they have none, pick their site and choose Allow. They sign in once per machine; every later session starts signed in.

- Never ask for a password, an API key or a code in chat. The person approves in their own browser.
- Never sign in or create an account for them.

## 4. Every day after

Claude Code: `/shipfound:grow`. Codex: "What should I do today?" It checks what changed and what is still failing, then offers today's moves, each with its price.

## What Shipfound never does

It never posts, publishes or sends anything without the person pressing the button, never merges a pull request, and states the price of anything over 5 credits before it runs.
